Retail is a huge part of the UK economy. One in ten of us work in retail businesses–from small shops to supermarkets–while retail sales account for a third of all consumer spending.
It’s a world class industry that needs world class skills to maintain its edge, especially through tough economic times.
The National Skills Academy (NSA) for Retail is the driving force behind the development of skills and qualifications within the sector.
It operates through a network of retail skills shops, conveniently located in shopping centres and high streets across the UK that can deliver a range of services from pre-employment training to store management programmes.
This year, 20 retail skills shops will become members of the National Skills Academy for Retail, with a further 50 planned over the next four years.
