The Skills Academy will address the learning and skills needs of the sector at all levels and for the long term.
For example, it will help the industry to recruit and train appropriate staff, from apprentices through to professional engineers. It will also encourage research to determine the skills we will need in the future and help to develop the PhD students who will teach future graduates and engineers.
Developing skills at all levels is a critical issue if the power sector is to remain viable and sustainable. That’s why sector employers have recommended that the Skills Academy should cover all levels of skills from Level 2 through to Level 8.
