Vision

Our vision is to ‘Add value through learning’. The mission of the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink Manufacturing is ‘to grow a thriving food and drink sector in the UK, where employers and learning organisations work together to create value’.

Measurably the National Skills Academy will aim to deliver new skills to at least 28,000 learners during its first four years.

To achieve this ambitious aim, the National Skills Academy will deliver bite-sized programmes of learning as well as full qualifications.

This will encourage individuals to maintain their lifelong commitment, provide transportability of all learning and over time provide valuable data on employee progression and participation.

The National Skills Academy will contain a network of Academy Training Centres, supported by a central e-based hub. The National Skills Academy has a network of accredited Training Providers, which are supported by a central e-based hub.The number of Academy centres is expected to grow to at least 60 in the first 3 years, enabling sector employees to have their skills needs delivered as and when they require at a location to suit their needs.
